Landlords

Landlords  will have obligations to comply with reasonable energy efficiency requests from tenants from 2016 and will not be able to rent properties below an energy rating of C from 2018.

For landlords who would like to prepare for these new obligations or who would like to provide more comfortable and energy efficient accomodation, there are still financial support mechanisms available such as the Landlords’ Energy Savings Allowances and Landlords’ Minor Insulation Grant. Since these funds are likely to  withdrawn or reduced once the Green Deal starts at the end of 2012, we would advise taking advantage of them particularly if other general refurbishment work is envisaged.
