Community Groups and Social Landlords

Building refurbishment can be much more cost effective when neighbouring properties are treated at the same time. This is because energy efficiency measures are often similar and the building work can be phased so that people and equipment are all employed efficiently.

The Green Building Partnership has the ability to deliver eco refurbishment projects for social landlords and ensure that local business are involved to help support the economy. This is because in addition to in-house expertise, our relationships with most of the local companies involved in eco refurbishment enable us to manage the required range of sub-contractors to complete projects of all sizes.

The Green Building Partnership also works with other organisations such as Brighton & Hove 1010 and Brighton Energy Co-op to help engage communities and access funding streams for community-based energy projects. In such cases, private house owners can achieve eco refurbishment at much lower cost than they would be able to do on their own.
