efficient refurbsEfficient Refurbs helps property owners in Brighton & Hove identify and finance green refurbishment measures that will reduce energy costs and increase property values.

The company’s founder, David Porter, undertook an eco-refurbishment of his own house in Hove in 2007, designing and project managing all aspects of the refurbishment. He believes that the journey he took in upgrading the thermal performance of his own home could be of great help to others who wish to do the same. David draws upon his 27 years experience of mathematical modelling to help clients understand the financial and impacts of energy efficient refurbishments.

Efficient Refurbs offers the following services for property owners:

Energy Efficient Refurbishment Report

This is an independent review that will present different levels of energy efficiency that could be attained for your building along with the likely costs and the pros and cons of each measure. This will enable you to make informed decisions about which energy efficiency measures to integrate into a refurbishment project.

Thermal modelling of a property

Understanding how much energy is used in a given property, in a given location with specific occupants is key to selecting the most appropriate energy efficiency measures. Thermal modelling allows energy use within a property to be estimated and whilst a number of such models exist, Efficient Refurbs employs the more accurate PassivHaus Planning Package to correctly model heat loss in property. The PassivHaus Planning Package is based on many years research conducted in Germany and now being adopted across Europe and is increasingly being adopted by leading refurbishment professionals.

Project planning to ensure the most appropriate measures are selected and planned for correctly.

Project management to co-ordinate with suppliers to get best price and delivery terms, ensure all technical information and training requirements are available to onsite contractors.

Efficient Refurbs also offers the above services to the building trade – architects, project managers, builders, surveyors and product suppliers – to allow them to develop new business opportunities such as incorporating energy efficiency measures into a refurbishment project and selling the benefits of energy efficiency to end-clients by providing independent advice.
